Dali. The Transparent Simulacrum of the Feigned Image.

Neil ellman

(after the painting by Salvador Dalí)
It is not as if
you cannot see me or us
as I or we exist
(you can if you choose)
in the dreams you have
(if you dream at all)
I or we take the shape
of yesterday’s simulacrum
today’s perhaps
(your dream, not mine)
the presentiments you have
(yours)
I or we are nothing more
than figments
of the figments of your life
(if it is that you lived at all)
now you see, now don’t
in your waking dreams
(if you are awake at all).
